In this period, Agroinnovations Bolivia received and delivered to the OECAs and the project beneficiaries new beekeeping equipment to improve honey production.

Equipment Management:

training

The OECAS Apaqui and Tocorani now have solar wax processors, a wax laminator, and wax stamp so that they can recover and use their own wax sheets, thereby accelerating the process of Honey production. In addition, these groups can now take better advantage of bee products. The OECAs also have a small number of propolis collectors, of Brazilian origin and they have been trained in how to build low-cost propolis collectors.

Training in Queen Rearing

Agroinnovations Bolivia recognized the need of the beekeepers to replace bee Queens as a means of increasing productivity. In this process, we trained the beekeepers in the production of queens, and the fabrication of materials for queen rearing: wax queen-cups, queen rearing frames, and hand tools. The beekeepers were trained in two rearing methodologies. The first methodology is through simple division, and the second is the ALLEY method. This was taught by Norma Revollo, apiculture technician of Agroinnovations Bolivia.
