People’s Grocery is a community-based organization in West Oakland that develops creative solutions to the health problems in the community that stem from a lack of access to and knowledge about healthy, fresh foods People’s Grocery can be found online at peoplesgrocery.org.

Topics of discussion include the history of People’s Grocery, the concept of a mobile market, the importance of urban gardens, the profitability of selling fresh produce in urban areas, the “elitism” of local food, and of course, food justice.
