One response to “Episode #111: Deconstructing Collapse”
It’s interesting how popular media can sometimes reflect our deepest hopes and fears. I had never before considered the popularity of zombie films as some kind of sub-conscious fear of the hungry mobs that may someday roam our nation post-collapse. It reminds me of the Godzilla phenomenon post-Hiroshima. I wonder what kind of media the Japanese will generate following their most recent nuclear catastrophe.
This was an awesome podcast. So interesting how collapse becomes something to yearn for among the discouraged and marginalized. I fall victim to that slippery slope from time to time.
I have listened to almost 50 of your podcasts in the past couple weeks and KMO ranks with Richard Manning and John Perlinn as my favorites so far.
