Great interview…
So many terms – wilderness, conservation. what do these mean? Scott is more than just a conservationist, I think. He’s working to do good, not just less bad, not just conserve nature, but regenerate.
Hey!
I think this was the program you ended by suggesting that agroinnovations get involved with AGChat
I ran over to AGChat right after your show and found it, in my estimation, to be everything that your program was railing against.
The Medium is the Message, right? Tweet promotes superficiality. How could it do otherwise?
I’m all for deeper discussions with the many people who listen to this great prodcast. Couldn’t we gain more depth by just setting up an old fashioned listserve either through this site or Yahoo! or Google? (I personally do not forums. I like email that comes out and pushes me, not forum messages I have to remember to log in and find)
This is a great program.
You’re working wonders with the guests you are able to bring to we dirt farmers.
It would be great if you increased the information transfer by facilitating email correspondence among listeners

Allan,
I appreciate the kind words for the podcast. However, I disagree with your assessment of agchat. I have found the community to be varied, representing a broad spectrum of philosophies and approaches, and the participants are courteous and welcoming. Different folks may promote different ways of thinking and doing things, that’s fine with me. There are a lot of young people using these tools who are curious, open-minded, and committed, and the permaculture community should be reaching out to as many of these people as possible in any way we can.
At this time, I have no intent of setting up a listserv. Thanks for the suggestion though.
This was a great interview Frank. Some very insightful metaphors for living; the universe is more interested in being than not being; the distinction between hope and optimism…I have ordered Scott’s book and look forward to part 2 of the interview. Thanks.
