One response to “Episode #118: Cowherd Management”
Somehow I ended up reading Sam Bingham’s “The Last Ranch”… did I get connected to that through this podcast somehow? A good book with a Holistic Management perspective about a complex Colorado ranching community. Near the end of the book, Bud Williams is mentioned, a man who corrals cattle and other herd animals by walking and moving around them, often at a distance — a very subtle way of getting them to move. As far as I can tell, Williams popularized this “low stress livestock” method, though many others may have figured it out before him, and have picked up on it since.
